Freedom of design for architects with strength
respected by engineers.
Armor Screen provides unmatched design flexibility
for protecting facilities of all types. The patented Armor Screen Wind,
Rain & Impact Abatement System is a flexible, transparent membrane
designed to withstand even the strongest hurricane winds without rupture
while deflecting large and small missiles.
The system is constructed of a technologically advanced, lightweight
fabric which is 95% solid and 5% porous, allowing visibility and natural
light into protected structures while effectively eliminating high winds
and driving rain intrusion.
Armor Screen has been load factor tested up to 195
psf (276 mph) and large missile impacted with 5 times the force required
by the strict Miami-Dade certification (NOA No. 03-1204.01). You can
specify Armor Screen knowing that you meet or exceed code standards no
matter what codes you must work under. Structural strength of the
building may also be increased.
Applications that are impossible with other products are accomplished
with Armor Screen. Shelters, fire-rescue stations, auto dealerships,
airports, hospitals, store fronts, lanais and sliding glass doors are
easily protected. Since Armor Screen is flexible, it can be adapted to
most architectural details.
Armor Screen's removable barriers are secured with unobtrusive,
stainless steel anchors into the building structure. A special
"earth-anchor" allows our product to be fastened directly into the
ground, even through brick pavers.
Armor Screen is lightweight and easy to deploy. It can be put up without
tools in a fraction of the time required for other products. Utilize
existing staff and eliminate the need to hire outside labor.
Every screen we make is custom-engineered in our own manufacturing
facility to ensure we meet your exacting specifications.
Angled screens: Commonly used for
doors or large windows. The deflection spacing is created by
the lower hardware being installed away from the bottom of
the door, or window. The taller the window, the more give
the screens has, and the farther away the screen needs to
be.
Inverted screens: These screens will use the eve of the
house to create the proper amount of deflection space. The
hardware will be installed into the trusses of the roof
using a removable eyebolt and then fasten below the window.
These screens are more common for windows and the outside of
screened in patios.
Window screens: The screens are great for bay windows, and
atrium windows. This screen will have straps running from
the bottom of the screen to the ground. The strap is either
secured by removable eyebolts in the concrete or ground
anchors installed into the earth.
Storm bars: When it is not applicable to angle the screens
out or invert screens into an eve, storm bars are used to
create the proper deflection spacing needed for code. The
storm bars are easy to put up and easy to store. Storm bars
can be installed vertically or horizontally depending on the
situation.
Flush screens: These screens are used when the window is
reassessed enough to create the proper amount of deflection
without angles or storm bars. Depending on the situation a
flush screen with grommets can be used for a reduced price
if a Florida Building code installation will due rather then
a Miami-Dade approved install.
Straight screens: Patios, front entry ways and lanais can
all be protected to Miami-Dade code with a straight screen.
Furniture, plants, ceiling fans are all protected behind the
Armor Screen. Buckles can also be placed on the inside of
the screen making it easy to exit through the screens. If
necessary, straight screens can be installed with Velcro
straps or roll ups to speed up deployment.
Balcony/Track: Tracks can be placed on the top and bottom of
the screen in certain situations, a condo balcony is the
perfect situation. The track screens are great for an every
day use to create shade, slows down the wind, or to keep out
rain.
Advanced Hurricane Solutions will always use removable
stainless steel hardware. All of the screens will be
individually numbered and a job layout sheet will be given
to ease in deployment. The screens are folded and kept in
storage bags provided by Advanced Hurricane Solutions. The
screens are manufactured with non moving, non corrosive
parts that don’t need any maintenance. See our deployment
guide for our buckle and strap instructions.
